July 4th may have just passed, but the Upstate is far from done celebrating. This Saturday at the Radio Room in Greenville, Wasted Wine is making their first appearance at the city’s favorite rock dive in quite a bit. While their instrumentation and appearance always come off as classy, these boys and girls rock with the best of them and never fail to bring their own brand of party. For those seeking something a bit left of center, Wasted Wine’s eclectic blend of Eastern folk, cabaret, rock and southern gothic Americana is the perfect concoction. And their live shows are just as interesting and unpredictable as the music they play. This show will also see the first Upstate show with founding member Adam Murphy in quite a while.

Joining Wasted Wine are another group of unique individuals, the imaginative noisepop group, sun sweet sun. Filled with atypical melodies and implications of tales and situations of the fantastic, the mysterious quartet draw you in with their ever-present sincerity. An even rarer appearance here than Wasted Wine, you would be hard pressed to find a more interesting group of people playing this night.

Columbia’s Daddy Lion will also be joining the fray. Jeremy Joseph  has been steadily carving a name for himself in the independent rock world, with his careful composition that takes element of what’s generally associated with “shoe-gaze” and mixing reverberated vocals, soft guitar licks, and hand-nodding melodies. Daddy Lion will fit right into the group of musical misfits.

You will be hard pressed to find a more interesting variety of styles than at the Radio Room this Saturday evening. The show’s scheduling to start roughly around 9, so I’d assume it’ll start around 9:30. You know them rock stars are. There will be no better opportunity to check out the area’s most unique artists than this Saturday. So I hope to see you all there!
